Hello Kitty is Teaming Up with Wonder Woman For the Film’s Japan Release
We’ve seen Hello Kitty take on a variety of other roles over the years as the character has partnered with other companies, but never has it been this badass.
This time, Hello Kitty takes up the mantle of DC’s Wonder Woman and suddenly Gal Gadot has got some fierce competition on being the most charming Amazonian superheroine ever.

Wearing the iconic skin-tight costume, Hello Kitty sports the recognizable tiara over her now long flowing hair. She has kept her signature red bow intact, while sporting other Wonder Woman staples such as knee-high boots, armbands and the Lasso of Truth.
According to SoraNews24, it will be the first time the cuddly character has teamed up with a foreign-made film, which incidentally, is set to arrive in Japan on 25 August.
Considering that the highly successful live-action film has been out elsewhere since the beginning of June, Japanese fans are probably already itching to finally catch it in the cinemas.
Since they will have to wait a couple more months, maybe Hello Kitty can tide them over in the meantime.
Sanrio will celebrate the arrival of the film by offering Wonder Woman advance ticket buyers a choice of either a reprint of the 1941 DC Comic where Wonder Woman was first introduced or a rubber key chain of Hello Kitty in her Wonder Woman cosplay attire.
Tickets first went on sale on Saturday, June 17.
“It’s really wonderful that everyone’s beloved Hello Kitty is taking the lead for Wonder Woman,” said Wonder Woman film director Patty Jenkins, who is a self-confessed Hello Kitty fan herself.
While there is no official report on any other Wonder Woman and Hello Kitty merchandise coming up, many are expecting some cool stuff to come from both DC and Sanrio upon the film’s Japan release.
